Who — who knows Love — would presume
to tell another when or how
to love?
Who — who knows Wonder — would presume
to tell another when or how
to serve their Soul?
Is the margin on
our supermarket flowers
and gilt-edged Gospels
paid back into the
Love and Faith they’re
meant to represent?
And do the hours we
spend away, in service
to their debt, gift those
we wish to honor
the Love we hold for them?
